Lake Fever is Leave No Trace certified, and committed to running our camping tours with little to no impact on the environment - minimizing our “footprints.” To us, this means carpooling to lower gas emissions, properly disposing of all waste, minimizing campfire impacts, respecting wilderness and leaving no trace of our presence both at campsites and in nature so that others may enjoy it.
Absolutely not. Most of our customers are in the same boat as you, so Lake Fever is the perfect place to learn to camp without all the pressure. We also provide all gear (tents, sleeping bags/pads, etc.), meals and guided itineraries, so that you don't have to spend your time planning (https://www.lakefeverwilderness.ca/learn-to-camp)
In all likelihood, yes. Unless groups are uneven, tents will be shared in groups of 2. If you have your own pre-arranged tent partner, you will be accommodated. Since this is a group trip, any guests travelling solo are encouraged to simply get out there and make new friends.
EXCEPTION: If you would REALLY prefer to sleep in your own tent, you have the option to pay an extra fee for the “Solo Tent” add-on on the booking page.
Note: No man and woman will ever be forced to share a tent with one another.
**COVID-19 UPDATE:
Guests will not be required to share a tent throughout the COVID-19 outbreak. Those from the same household, however, may continue to share (Currently still in effect throughout 2024).
Sorry, no. Campers will need to use the tents provided to them. No need to worry, these are 4 person tents, and will provide more than enough space for you and your tent partner bestie. This also applies to those paying to sleep independently in a tent, as we need to make sure that no tent takes up more space than others on the same site.
*Those on private group tours may contact me about a possible exception, but bear in mind that there may be size restrictions that prohibit you from using your own tent.
Bringing light snacks for the drive up is encouraged, although we will be making a lunch stop with some really wonderful treats for the trip.
Please do not bring meal components with you, as guests will not be permitted to use any cooking equipment.
Note: You will have an opportunity to make special dietary requests on the checkout forms.
**Please note that as of 2022, Lake Fever now exclusively provides vegetarian tours, so no meat or seafood products will be served on any trip (with the exception of restaurant meals). Not to worry, our menu has more than satified vegans and carnivores alike**
Lake Fever tours are proud to provide campers with nearly all of what they need to enjoy a successful camping trip in the Canadian wilderness. It is recommended that campers pack light. Please visit our “What To Bring” page for a detailed list of what you might need.
Please note that there is maximum of 1 piece of luggage per person that can be stored in the trailer. If possible, try to keep large suitcases in storage before leaving Toronto. A small day bag will also be permitted on board the bus, but please be aware that on fully booked trips space inside is very limited.
Bounce is an excellent & affordable luggage storage platform, and has several locations in the Toronto area for your convenience.
Yes. Groups of 8 or more are encouraged to email in for more information and pricing. Private group trips are also customizable to some degree.

Yes, provided you are accompanied by an adult. Lake Fever has a strict policy regarding minors, in that all passengers under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by a guardian, who will remain responsible over them, and also sign trip waivers on their behalf. Anyone under 18 without a guardian attending will not be permitted to attend, and will not receive a refund.
It depends. If light or intermittent rain is expected, a trip will go on as scheduled. If a forecast predicts bad weather with the potential to ruin a trip, that trip may be cancelled. This will be at Lake Fever’s discretion. Passengers will be given at least 24 hours notice of any cancellation that will occur due to weather.
We are sorry to say that, at this time, transportation is not equipped to accommodate wheelchairs.
If an individual customer wishes to cancel a trip, they can be refunded in full, provided that Lake Fever is given at least 7 day’s notice. If notice is less than 1 week, customers will be reimbursed 50% of the cost of their trip.
Private tours giving less than 30 days notice of cancellation with have a 50% cancellation fee deducted from their trip refund.
Should the number of patrons signed on for any given trip tally less than 4, Lake Fever reserves the right to cancel the trip. Customers will receive 48 hours notice, and have the option of being added to an upcoming trip’s manifest, or to receive credit for a future tour with us.
Weather is also a factor that may result in a cancelled trip. Nobody wants to camp in a lightning storm, it’s no fun, and there isn’t much to do. In order to maximize your group wilderness experience, trips may have to be rescheduled on occasion.
